What an excellent weekend, sixteen Porsches (and a lotus Elan) met up for the drive to Alnwick gardens on the Saturday, weather was breezy but the sun was shinning, the Gardens where great and lunch wasn't bad as a few of us went to the HAIRY LEMON!! which sounds worse than it was, not a bad pub actually.
At 3.30pm it was time for twelve cars to make the drive across country and across the border to the town of Hawick where we stayed at the MANSFIELD HOUSE HOTEL. An excellent location, once we arrived (another one of Alans detours!!! cheers Alan, knew we could count on you) the Hotel was excellent, the weather even better as once we were checked in some of us enjoyed a refreshing drink on the sun terrace.
At 8pm we dined, the three cours meal was excellent and then we had a light hearted quiz to round of the evening which I thouroghly enjoyed.
Sunday morning was a relaxed affair with a cooked breakfast and once we checked out the obligitory group photos we taken.
Thanks so much for all of you that attended and appeared to have such a good weekend, it makes my job as RO worth doing, and I hope the group that went onto Kelso and Floors castle enjoyed the rest of your day.

and what superb weather we had too [:D]

The look on the faces of the residents of a small single lane cul-de-sac when 12 Porsches drove in on one of their 'detors' was a picture [:D] [:)]

Nick, good to see you're mastering the art of uploading piccys [;)] . For future reference, click the 'embed photo' button and the piccy will apear in the post

Thanks Nick for a great weekend - was worth the last minute decision to join you all and even winning the booby prize in the quiz!

The gardens were well worth a visit and will certainly go again when the summer flowers are in bloom. Had a great run to Holy Island - fortunately the tide was out so we drove across - very warm + 18c, then continued on the Northumbrian coast run to Newcastle. Interesting villages, castles etc. harbours - never realised they all existed.

Rita and I look forward to meeting you all again - possibly at Raby Castle in August.

Cheers
John Holmes
