Helen,
My wife and I are doing the Alpine tour 2/8 to 9/8.We have been to most of these places before and I can' t wait. Will let you know how we get on.
Now that we have the full routing it looks very relaxed,I notice they seem to circumvent the Stelvio so may detour a bit.
Had a bit of a quandry on which car to take-we opted for boxster to give us fresh air option, secure luggage space.Oh dear now I think about it the Carrera would be more exciting.

Well worth the Detour!

Check it is open though. A member went and was devastated to find it was still closed a month or so ago (snow - in case anyone does not realise why).

We did the Stelvio Pass 2 days after picking our Boxster up from the Factory. It just clicked over the 1000KM run-in at the bottom on the other side[;)]

think you might have a point Peter we might have to rethink the timing

BTW are you going alone or with a group? only asking as it say' s on the web site minimum of 10 people.

Soft white fluffy stuff

I may be interested if we agree a date.
As long as the snow is not too deep, it' s not a problem for [:D], I knew the 4 wheel drive was not just for off-roading.
Besides which they do snow chains.
Of course 6 foot drifts are a bit of an issue unless there is a Cayenne turbo owner with the snowplow option.

You could even consider you are getting the winter driving experience thrown in for free and saves you going to Sweden on a separate trip (or wherever they do it, can' t be bothered to look at the moment).
