Alternative Pubs

I thought last Sunday at The Crown was great. I've emailed the Bird in Hand about the menu (no harm in trying) but in the meantime shall we try a few more pubs?

I don't have any Sundays free in March or April but it would be good to keep up the momentum and try a few more places. Any volunteers to suggest somewhere and organise it?

I drove past the Shire Horse (on the A4 outside Maidenhead) as suggested by Ade on the way home. I've never been in but it has a massive car park...

The shire horse is bigger inside than the Bird in Hand too James (well last time I was there anyway which was a couple of years ago).

Another good pub is the Royal Standard of England in Forty Green. However, I can't remember how big the car park is.

I will try and come up with some other pubs to try and I will post here.

Royal Standard has a big car park and the last mile or so to the pub is interesting - road is quite narrow for passing.

Yeah, great pub, one of the best, but not so good for lots of Porsches maybe.

And, hey! We're not that precious about our cars are we?

We could probably have a section of their large car park cordoned off for us.

Only a few miles from me, the road isn't too bad if you come in from the Beaconsfield to Penn end, turn at the Red Lion and down past the cricket ground?

Pub suggestions are welcome. Volunteers to organise a meet will be even more welcome. As I said, I'm not going to be around much for the next couple of months.

My choice would be;;-

Shire Horse or Novello with occasional evening meet at Royal Standard.

I thought it might be worth a look at The Old Devil Inn just a bit further up the road from BiH. I don't know it at all but it might fit the bill. Take a look on Sunday?

I won't even mention the Novello... [] Damn it!
