Alternative seats for Cayman S

Hi

I am a new CS owner (06 model) and am still finding my way away the car after 2 weeks !

I am having real problems with the driving seat and simply cant get comfortable in it.

Anyone else had this problem and/or changed their seats ?

Thanks

If you have std seats they are usually quite comfortable but the sports seats are more supportive, there is plenty of adjustment and I find it a major pain whenever it's been to the dealer and someone has changed the setting, usually takes me a week to get it right again! There was a basic adjustment method described on the Porsche website a few months ago which helps to get it pretty close but it's hard to describe. They did it with photos of course. Someone may have a link to it, anyone?

Isn't that the one described in the car handbook? I have the electrically adjustable seats because the adjustment is infinite within the range available (not in steps) and because the front and rear of the squab are height adjustable independently. So although the infinite adjustment can take lots of fiddling with to get it just right, it is then fixed by the memory. And as I seem to change shape slightly on a daily basis (!), minor changes can be accommodated easily.

changing seats can be very expensive so best to find out how you can adjust yours first!! most people who are 6 ft or under find std seats ok but over that some find it dificult personally i find sports seats much more comfortable but they are more expensive for the better elec adjustable type.well worth it in my opinion though[;)]

Spudwiser, I've sent the email I received from Porsche Experience it's a link to You Tube and there are others on You Tube adding there penny worth. The basic Porsche set up on there gets you pretty close but is on electric seats so the controls shown are not as most cars have such as the pump up and down lever for height adjust. it also doesn't mention the wheel adjustment for that check your handbook.

Thank you very much everyone for the replies. Have adjusted the seat and will see how I get on in the next day or so. The problem I have is I am quite broad and have difficulty fitting my rib cage between the side bolsters ! Sadly, this didnt present itself on the test drive. What is worse is the new Cayman in the showroom seemed to have more generous seats ! Anyway, I have found a company called Capital Seats in Leic who will look at the car next Tue with a view to reducing the side bolster foam and making good. The alternative is £1.7k Recaros inc. fitting ! Will let you know how I get on. Thanks again

I have been told anything that fits a mini so the Sport Trendline, or Specialist M or Expert M or Speed. Had some good news today though re my OEM seat side bolsters which can be adjusted so hopefully no need to go there now.

If you take a look at the Porsche Website build my Porsche options you can take a look at the seat options.
