How do you remove the alternator? It sits above the aircon compressor, I know there is another bolt at the bottom but I cant get to it!! One of the aircon pipes going into the compressor is in the way and I cant shift that either!!
Help!!

It's a right royal pain in the a$$ on a car with A/C!. You have to attack it from above and below. I had a go and got so hacked off with it I ended up giving up and paying my local specialist to do it. All my sockets and spanners were either too large to get on the nuts due to A/C pipes and my smaller spanners were not man enough for the job and would not hold onto the nut properly and slip off as soon as I put any reasonable pressure on them so on the basis I needed the work done asap I just took it down to the specialist who still took a good 2hrs on the job so even for the experienced it is a nasty job.

Sorry i've got no useful advice for you but I can sympathise with your frustrations!!

Done it!!!
I removed the long top stud on the alternator, Then took of the sump guard plate.
I undid the top two aircon pump 17mm bolts a bit to loosen pivot.
Undid the tensioning bar enough to be able to remove one of the pivot bolts. Then pushed the aircon pump toward the engine to slacken the belt enough to remove it off the pullys.
Then from underneath I removed the bottom 13mm bolt from the alternator and lifted it out.
Not as bad as I thought!!
Thanks for the reply though.
