Newly married Wayne Helme Orange Cayman S carried the Regions hopes in the Driving Challenge at the National Event at Althorp this weekend. Wayne was our late entry on the Sunday and did not have the advantage of most other drivers who also practice on the Saturday. However, Wayne maneuvered his orange cayman backwards, forwards, and a bit sideways between the cones in a drive that would have been a credit to the the stig. You will be please to know that that when the points were totalled up Wayne just missed out on first place by a whisker to come a fantastic Second. Well done Wayne.

Does anyone know the final scores for the Driving Challenge and who the winners were/are?
I enjoyed the event despite not knowing what my score/times were in the 924 and would like to say thank you to all those who organised and marshalled the challenge and refused to take any bribes.

Alfie and his dad in a 3/2 Carrera won - he had just picked up the car from Virgin 911 on Friday!

Wayne Helme was second and I think Rob Kellock third.

Perhaps an email to alan Armstrong Operations Director will confirm this.

Correct John!

Great fun and no bribes :)

Even if the winner needed a little help from a co-driver [:D]

Never has R18 been let down by so much for so little[&o]-me thinks an advanced driving course is in order-perhaps R18 raffle funds can be diverted-oops-too much paperwork!

It was a really fun event that attracted lots of spectators. Well done to the winner and all who were brave enough to enter>
