Althorp Register Display

On Friday, Sue and I sent an e-mail to all 911 Carrera 3.2 addresses that Club Office has recorded. I have copied the text here for those who haven't received it, and to give an update on those who have volunteered for one of the Register Display places at Althorp.

If you didn’t receive the email, you will need to update your details on the new website. Instructions on how this can be done are given at the end of this post.

As you know, the Club’s 2015 National Event is taking place at Althorp on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th August. Bookings have been brisk with both Club hotels fully booked and the Carrera Party sold out! Narinder at Club office has a list of other hotels and B&Bs should you need any assistance finding accommodation.

Porsche Cars GB will be bringing approximately 18 cars for display and we are told that some of these may be quite ‘interesting’. They are currently sited in a location adjacent to all the Club displays.

Register Parking for PCGB club members ?- If you are attending the event and would like to have your car featured in the 911 Carrera 3.2 display area, please let me know. We have been allocated spaces for both Saturday and Sunday, and the only criteria are that you must arrive at the opening time and remain in place until the end of the day. The event times are: 12:00 –17:00 Saturday; 09:00 – 17:00 Sunday. Mirror hangers are being send out to our display cars.

We have had a good response, but if you would like to request a place for Saturday or Sunday please contact me: 911carrera32@porscheclubgb.com
Note: Sunday is fully allocated, you can be placed on a reserve list

UPDATE - Post National Event
It's all over now...
Thanks to all of you that made your car available and for attending the Display, I saw many visitors admiring the cars. Unfortunately I wasn't able to meet the arriving Saturday attendees as I was elsewhere on site with my car. I did manage to catch up with some later in the day.
On Sunday I think I spoke to you all on arrival except the very first car, there well before 8am!
I hope you enjoyed it as much as Sue and I did and look forward to speaking to you again at the next event.
Over the weekend I would guess we had the greatest total number of cars on Display when you add up the 6 in the 30 year Supersport anniversary display, the Carrera Display, and the 911 Carrera 3.2 Display area. Just on the Sunday there were 20 911 Carrera 3.2s officially displaying, thanks again for your support.
Steve

As you may have already been given the heads up ,we will keep this short . We are arranging by request a 30th anniversary display of Supersports. We have got four and also a one day only entry so are still looking for two more . If you are going on both days that is good but if you are only planning on attending on either one we can still accommodate you . If you are interested in doing this please give us a call .
display@porscheclubgb.com or a simple phone call to 01253 592755 . You will get a window hanger and on arrival will be directed to the parking area alongside the other entrants. Thanks and we look forward to seeing all the 3.2 s .
Cheers the noo

Display Register Secretaries . ( and dedicated 3.2 owners , in our case a 1987 Supersport Targa )

Hi Mac and Sue

Are there any instructions about the Supersport display on the Sunday eg where to park etc

I take it I have to be there about 8.30am and are the window display labels being sent out , as I don't want to arrive and park in the wrong place

Cheers

Mike

Hi Mike,

I'm not sure Mac and Sue will see your post, try using their contact details in their post above.

Steve

Hi Mike,
Just by luck we did see this post ---and believe you me it is just luck .
Answer to your question . We don't as yet have the Hangers !!! they are on their way --apparently . We do not even have our entry stuff , wristbands , tickets , who knows ? The timing is as you have said . It could be chaos but there you go . There was talk of Spec sheets but we also believe in fairies . As soon as we get the aforesaid hangers we will first class them out . We have 28 to deal with , time is running out . However if we don't get them on time we will sort some sort of gate anti - jobsworth so you should at least get directed to the right spot .
Cheers the noo .

Steve and sue

Just a word of thanks from me for arranging a great display , it was my first big event with PCGB and I had a great day,

Also all that were involved did a great job

Many thanks

Mike

So pleased there was a Super Sport display and we were so fortunate to park in such a fab spot. Thanks to the organisers and good to meet up with SSE owners and have a look over the cars. Fantastic event...we had a really good day :)

Mike...are you serious..??.. that was your first PCGB national??

yes I think so , saying that I did go to one many years ago in a field and there was a lack of food and drinks think it was radley hall or something like that but that was long time ago, this was my first event that I have been involved in, used to do a lot with TIPEC

anyway good to see you , car looked great as always

Mike

It was a pleasure to be involved in such a great event and to get a superb line up of Supersports-I wish I still had mine but that's another story! I feel we had the best spot for all the Anniversary Displays and I'm personally grateful to you all for making my first event as Register Director such a success-I'm chuffed to mint balls with you all!
