Aluminium pack

Does anyone know how easy it is to retro fit an aluminium pack to a 996TT 2004?

Also some suggestions for a supplier and an idea of cost would be helpful.

Thanks.

Porsche don't seem to do a retrofit kit for the aluminium pack, although they do make them in carbon and various shades of wood. Therefore, you have to buy all the bits individually, and they are an arm and a leg. This will give you an idea: http://www.design911.co.uk/fu/pt67_514_-cma81-cmo110-ct351/Porsche/996--911--1997-05/996-TURBO-2000-05/Alloy--Silver-Interior/

What some people do is remove the parts, and have them sprayed in Arctic Silver (same as original "Aluminium" finish). Fine if you can do without the car for a few days. Forum member Vron did this and posted some pics a few years ago. You can see them here:

Dont know if its worth £364 tho.

Thanks Richard.

I'm reasonably confident doing minor repairs to the car, so do you think I could remove the existing parts and replace them with new aluminium ones from Design911 or is this a 'take it to a garage' job?

All the dash bits are clipped and screwed in place, so easy enough to do it yourself if you know where all the screws are. The handbrake and centre console are a bit more tricky, but no real problem for a DIYer. Drop me an email and I'll sort out some instructions.
