Really stupid question time i am afraid to say ....

bought new wiper blades from opc today and seem not to be the right parts,,,,first of all the mechanism to lock onto the wiper was different but they would go on. problem is ... the small blade, which normally includes a small rubber positioner to the left of the wiper hook, would only go on one way which meant the hole for the rubber positioner was on the right of the wiper hook and therefore covered by the wiper arm and therefore I could not fit the rubber positioner ... may be I am just being thick but I think I have the wrong part .. why would Porsche continue to make the part with the hole in it then cover it up ...are my wipers wrong part or am I missing something simple ???

what purpose does the rubber positioner play...???....

cheers

On my car RHD the blades parked on the right. Blades are approx 15" and 18" long with the shorter blade on the bottom. The rubber positioner is fixed to the bottom (shorter) blade.

So far as I understand it the rubber positioner is to prevent the two blades becoming entangled with each other when parked. In other words when blades are parked they are seperated by this piece of rubber with the top blade resting on the rubber, so ensuring seperation.

Hope this helps a little.

Michael,

Thanks - I think they are the wrong part ...the bag was open so someone else may have discovered they were incorrect part....i just cannot get the small one to hook up so the rubber positioner sits in the right place .. to the left of the hook.

Cheers
Kevin
