Am I too tall.... ?

fix

New member
I'm 193cm tall, will I have a problem in a 993 with sunroof ?
Any tall 993 owners out there ?

I know that I can "test" for myself but just wonder.

Regards
Patrick

6 foot 3 is ok. With a crash helmet on I touch the roof. A targa curiously has an inch or so more room because I guess lack of headlining etc

I'm 193cm and have no headroom problems in my '96 sunroof coupe. With a helmet on my head scrapes the headliner but it's not enough to cause a problem.

My main problem is that my left knee sits between the gearstick and steering wheel, which can cause me problems as my left hand bangs against my knee when applying lock.

Stupid question, but are you sure the seat is at it's lowest setting?

I think the seats in '96 cars are mounted about an inch lower than previous model years.

i'm 5'2 and a bit and i have no problems with head room...

now seeing over the steering wheel is another matter [;)][:D]

seriously though if your planning on doing track days thus needing room for a helmet then you could fit bucket seats and fit them as low as they will go.

It really depends on whether you're long in the legs or torso. I'm 5' 11" and long in the torso; I can't wear a helmet in my sunroof coupe unless the seat is reclined significantly. You really need to try it for yourself.

Maurice, I have a set of Brey Krause GT3 direct to floor brackets but haven't yet had the time to try them...
