Ambiant lighting question

Hi Guys

I have a 99 C2, it does not have the amber lights in the door handles, I have managed to but the back plates from a 2001 C2 that has the lights fitted, how hard would it be to convert my wiring to be able to have the lights working in my C2?

Any help would be appreciated

Where abouts do these lights sit in the handles do you have any pictures? Im intrigued to know how it looks as i didn't know you could get lights in the handles.

If you mean the amber lights which go in the front of the door handle (MY2001-) then IMO I wouldn't waste your time. They are about as dim as a glow worm's armpit. I did notice the one in the driver's door handle in my Turbo, but that was only by luck. I did contemplate changing it to an ultra-bright LED to shine light onto the ignition lock, but never got round to it. I think that that is what it is supposed to do, but needs far more candlepower.

Yes I agree they are nor the best, I have them in my Boxster and they are ok, I still feel like having a crack so any help would be great

Have these in my C4, but only noticed them about a month after having it!! If they are supposed to light something up, they don't. Not sure what the one by the courtesy light at the top of the screen is for. Would be interested to boost the drivers door one if it would light up the key, but isn't it on all the time and then be too bright when driving?
