I have recently installed a CD/ radio into the 944, there wasn't one when I bought it, when the radio was installed the sound was really low and fuzzy. I checked the speakers, found one that was faulty, but the rest were ok. Checked the speaker wires were the right way round and they were ok. After a while I gave up and went out for a drive. After I went into a shop and returned to the old girl, it did not start. It sounded like the fuel wasn't being supplied, there was definetly fuel in the tank, and I don't activate the alarm. I had to get picked up and waited till the next day. It started fine the next day and drove well, but during my drive I noticed a clicking noise from behind the radio/ centre console. There was a black box with alarm-steuergerat written on it. I parked up at a petrol station and when I got back it did not start again. With the clicking noise from the black box, I decided to disconnect it. Started straight away. I later phoned Porsche to get a replacement, but they told me that the alarm was in the back behind the nearside wheel arch and had never heard of my box. Can anyone give me some advice or information please. Cheers.
