An excuse for a meet.

Looks like we need an excuse for a meet. Nothing stopping us doing it in a socially responsible way either. While all pubs will be open soon a local near me has been open for 'take-out' on the green for a while. Or I could organise a dyno day shoot out ah-la titanic days with my local Rolling Road in Farnborough if there is interest?
So, any interest in either a meet on the green here:
http://thebarleymowtilford.com/ - I can offer off-street parking and a nice stroll to the green.

Or a Dyno shoot out here:
http://www.surreyrollingroad.co.uk/ followed by a beer on the green again if you fancy...

So any interest or proposal for dates....? Likewise, if someone wants to propose another location, I'm up for a drive...

I'd be up for something on a Sunday, a gentle drive (I know that's a grey area technically) or tyre kicking session - either sounds good to me, but it'd probably need to be August or onwards if I were to be driving the 944.

It would be great to get out at some point and kick some tyres...whether I would be up for it really depends on how this virus behaves now that so many morons have been out partying/sunbathing etc. Currently the rolling 7 day figures are on the rise?....so far other than family bubbles I have only gone somewhere like a beauty spot snd taken a pinic or just flask of coffee...alas queing to buy a drink even if sitting outside or standing around in a dyno is a not a wise move for me

Completely understandable Peter. Perhaps a drive with an optional suitably distanced open air meet at one end would be the safest idea at the moment. We could always dust off the CB radios (if they still work).

I've often thought about suggesting a route around the Chilterns, lots of interesting bits around where I grew up (Tring) that could be knitted together to make a nice route, if anyone ever fancies it.

I had no idea Surrey rolling road was in Hampshire. Might have to pay them a visit. Last time mine was on a Dyno the solenoid was broken so it made 270ish against the wastegate spring.
I'd be up for a meet, if people promise not to laugh at my rusty old heap.

There won't be any laughs from me James, I may not have rust anymore but the paintwork most certainly needs doing.

Pete, Pete, et al,

Totally understand regards the distancing measures. My local is operating a decent socially safe service, but I haven't used it myself tbh. I just wander past while walking the dog!
I'd be up for a drive out somewhere, but I'm now thinking of removing the head and fixing a stripped thread on the exhaust manifold which is blowing slightly since there is so little activity going on at the moment.
Take care all and hopefully we'll catch up at some point this year!

Too far away for me peeps, just been in the garage, how small is the 944 now compared to others !
Still looks lovely, I need to use it, hopefully tomorrow as the weather looks to be behaving now.

Too far for me as well unfortunately - I took mine out for a trip to Zuffenhaus Porsche in Wythall on Tuesday to get a suspension alignment, front was done but they didn't attempt the rear due to the seized bolts :ROFLMAO: had a nice long drive back though along some of my old driving routes. Still amazing how the 944 handling compares to my 996, I feel far more confident pushing on in the 944 than the 996...

My winter job is going to be dropping the rear suspension and reconditioning [s5]
