Anglesey Track Day 27th April

Many thanks to Allan Crosby and Phil Graham for extending me the courtesy of promoting PCGB's closest track day to the North West region for months at last night's club meeting.

Timed to coincide with R6's flagship event, Porsches on the Prom at Llandudno, the following day, PCGB has booked the famous Anglesey Circuit (as sen on TV's Fifth Gear) for the exclusive use of members on Saturday 27th April.

Further details are available on the "Club Trackdays" section of the forum.

Why not make a weekend of it and drive the Evo Triangle, eat fish and chips by the seaside, have a pint with us at the legendary Groes Inn and enjoy a line up of 100 Porsches on the Prom at Llandudno on Sunday 28th.

BOOK NOW to avoid disappointment!

To obtain a booking form, please email trackdays@porscheclubgb.com, or telephone Club office on 01608 652917 or download the form from www.porscheclubmotorsport.co.uk.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any difficulty downloading the booking form.

At the meeting last night, I was asked if the event was suitable for novices. The answer is a resounding YES! If you have ever wondered about plucking up the courage to take your Porsche on track (I know I did), there is no greater opportunity than this. The only people there will be your fellow club members, driving their own pride and joy. You will not be sharing tarmac with the local yoof, keen to demonstrate that their souped up Saxo is quicker than you!

There will be a full safety briefing before you are permitted to go on track at all. Your first session on the track (which will be mandatory) will involve being in a small group following a lead car with an instructor, initially at very low speed, to teach you which part of the circuit is being used (all of it) and the correct line to take around the corners. Only after every participant has done this will you be allowed out on your own and expert intructors will be arranged by the Club at modest cost - usually £20 for a 20 minute session or so. You will learn more in those 20 minutes than you can imagine!

Should anyone have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me or Steve Kevlin at Club HQ.

I hope to see you there.

Hi Rob,

Is anyone planning to stay over on Anglesey for the R6 event at Llandudno the following day ?

Regards
Mike

I don't know about on Anglesey itself but people will be staying over at various locations. A couple of us will be staying at The Groes Inn - partly because it is famous from the car magazines that use it. There is certainly a pretty wide choice of accommodation in the general area.
