Anglo-German insurance

Long story short....
Have sold my Turbo to a guy in Germany. He intends flying over here and driving it back but....
So far, he can't get insurance because it isn't German registered. My insurers wont cover him because he isn't a UK resident. The companies that will insure visitors to the UK won't cover a 944 Turbo.
Any suggestions short of driving it over there myself?
Ta.

Can you not drive it to the ferry/tunnel terminal and then he can drive it from their private car park onto the transport?

Several years ago I sold a 968 to a chap from Germany - he flew into Heathrow and we did the deal in the short stay car park. He had German registration plates with him, which he fitted to the car and headed off in the direction of Folkstone - he told me that this was so that his insurance would cover him, I'm not sure how legit this was but at the time I was more concerned about getting home safely using public transport with several thousand in cash in my coat pocket!

I've sold two cars to the same German chap before now.... Last one about 2 years ago.. He managed to get insured through day insure declaring a german driving licence & german address... They offer short term insurance policies online... From memory it cost him around £60.... failing that contact a company such as virginia water motor company, carseurope or ontime for a groupage quote to deliver to Germany...

Thanks for the suggestions. He managed to get it sorted. One happy German headed for Dover as we speak.
