I am having one of those days!

I have a day off work. My wife is out. The kids are out. Sounding great to take the 964 out.

WRONG!

The kids have been playing in the 964 and left the interior lights on so the battery is flat and to add insult to injury the car cover caught on the rear wiper arm as I removed it and sheared the arm off!

Add this to the problems I have already:
1) Drips of oil from the (engine onto the) undertray and oil cooler rubber pipes
2) The broken sunroof cable
3) The rust bubbles appearing around the Bumpers and the front screen
4) The brake pads cold welded themselves to the disks when the car was in storage so braking is like being vibrated to death
5) The wheels in need of a refurb

My 964 is looking like a total DOG and just looking at it makes me irritated.

I'm off to flog half my liver and a kidney in readiness for the ensuing bill.

*Disappears into the garage grumbling swear words*

Now you see,Chris, had you kept it running & come to Curborough, you wouldn't have had so many problems.[:)]

You'll feel better now that you've let all that tension out [:D]

Just tackle each job one by one until your done and the love will come back again [;)]

Steve,
Just a little update on my alarm problem;-checked all the lights-engine,bonnet,interior & above glovebox-all seem OK.A pillar door switches-if lightly touched ie leaving light(s)on,I can hear a relay clicking but haven't had the time nor weather to have the car outside to further investigate.
Spoke to Craig Horvath(GT One Ltd)-many thanks Craig-who advised me to
1/Remove rubber cover & then one can unscrew the switch using an M11 socket ,check connections etc at rear, sparingly lubricate etc & carefully replace.
However before that,
2/Check the Ultra sonics disable switch(if fitted)-it is-on the drivers side of the transmission tunnel.
Did that last night, switched it to the opposite position, locked the car-all LED's were left flashing correctly & so far seems OK-that's in the garage.
Will still do the switches this weekend.

Seems that both items can cause a relay to drop out the current change lets the alarm go off-whereas a battery slowly going flat when a 964 is left unused for 2/3 weeks doesn'

Cheers,

Colin.t .

Have you checked the going rate for half a liver at the moment Chris, not good [:D] Might not cover the bill [&:]

The love is back! (and fortunately no takers for kidneys or liver at the mo)

All it took was 52 miles of driving.

They are great to drive these 911s. Someone out to mention it to Jeremy Clarkson.................
