On Sunday afternoon we set off to this event with folding chairs and picnic box packed. We were to meet up at St.Johns about 30 minutes away. 2 minutes into the drive and the heavens opened and the roads were drenched! Not a good start. However, within 5 minutes the sun was out and everything dry again. When we arrived at the meeting place there was only us that had seen any rain, the Islands micro climate strikes again! Our club had a contingent of 4 Porsches, and 7 members in amongst the vast range of other types of car turning up. Pete and I helped hand out the onward route directions to the Picnic location of King Williams College in Castletown. After about an hour we all set off in convoy (with some gaps in between forming), meeting up to the rear of King Williams. It was still sunny, but cold, and I could only persuade Kim out of the car with an extra blanket and the flask of coffee.
