Annual production figures

It's probably posted here somewhere but to save me searching, does anybody have annual production figures for the RS (91, 92, 93?)

Tony

ALL Narrow Bodied RS were designated 92 Model year, the later 3.8 were 93 Model Year in all forms. Let's not talk about the RS America which was a 94 Model year end of production marketing gimmick.....think they did that again now let me think....[;)]

As Des says, it's a bit difficult to be sure as all narrow bodied cars were designated MY92. However, I am aware that they only just made the number needed for homologation by 31/12/91. As that number was 1000 cars, it is reasonable to assume that 1000 cars of all varieties were made in 1991, maybe a few more but not any less. I know that some of those cars were RHD because of the dates of some of the RHD car tests. That is all I have managed to find out so far.

This might help. The figures are from Adrian Streather's book - so don't blame me if they're wrong!!!

Regards

Dave

Dave, a great link...........I have heard of this tome but never read it myself.....

Interesting that it quotes 290 964 NGT produced for 1992, when convential wisdom had the figure around 150 ??????

There were 300 designated chassis numbers for the 964NGT and have always been informed that only 150 built.....this is from the two most prominent Dealers in Germany and UK. Interesting thought though what about a special sanction build of the 150 unbuilt cars......hmm line up here[:)]

Colour Sir.....

56 RHD 964RS of which 49 in UK. GT3's? Common as muck!

I think Tony was maybe after yearly production figures ? 92 model year would have run from August ? 91 to July 92 . And despite build date there are some cars that were never registered within the model year!

Thanks Dave that just what I wanted - should have looked there in the first place.

Thanks Paul but aren't those the ones that look like all the 996's with bodykits[;)] For exclusivity I think it's a 3.8 964 RS I'd want.

Although the figures are from Adrian's book, the spreadsheet isn't. All I did was to take the figures from the book and put them into an Excel spreadsheet to make it a bit clearer.

If anyone wants a copy of the spreadsheet you can download a .pdf version from the "Files" section of the 964 Yahoo Group at http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/porsche964/ or e-mail me at davew@computamedic.co.uk and I'll happily forward a copy of the Excel file.
