Another...996TT Tyre Post!

I had the rear wheels off today to have a proper check of the tyres and, annoyingly, I've decided I definitely need a new pair.

So far I've narrowed it down to:

CAMSKiLL @ £291.50 incl VAT (per tyre) for PS2 N4.

mytyres.co.uk @ £294.59 incl VAT (per tyre) for PS2 N4.

Firstly, is there anyway else that I may have missed that does the PS2 N4 cheaper?
Second, I will obviously have to get them fitted by a garage. Normally I'd just take my tyres to the local tyre place and get them to put them on, but the largest tyres I've done that with is 225s. Is it risky taking a pair of 295s to the local tyre garage to get them fitted? And how much would a reasonable price be for valves, balancing and fitting?

As another option, etyres can provide PS2 N4s for £333.30 ea (incl VAT, valves, balancing and fitting at your house). Possibly the same issues with a local tyre place fitting 295s??

Any advice would be appreciated as it's the first time I've had to get tyres of this size.

Thanks

In my experience camskill are very good on price and great fast service...

"No comment" on the other place you mention...............

I pay £10 per tyre fitted at my local alloy wheel refurb place who are happy to fit tyres and I know they will do so carefully..

I see you live in R17, have you therefore tried Micheldever tyres.... they are normally the best in this region. You can certainly trust them to do a good job .

I had big problems with a regular tyre fitter because of the size of my tyres.

Try Wembley Tyres in Neasden they are very cheap and have lots of Porsche driving customers.

I now only use Blackboots to fit my tyres. They use a Boss Touchless tyre machine that unlike other fitters doesn't jam a lever against the alloy to remove the tyre - it's a rim Touchless system. The place is full of supercars.

Thanks for the replies. I've got in touch with a local specialist who says it won't be a problem. I also said I'd happily buy the tyres from him if he could match the Camskill price...should find out on Monday.

I'm running mps N3 on the front & mps N4 on the rear,
Skidz in Falkirk Scotland £305 a tyre fitted for the rear & £150 a tyre for the front. :)

I'm hoping to end up paying around the £300 - £320 mark per rear tyre.

Try 'Event-Tyres' also, they come to you & I had no problem with them balancing my rear 295's on their mobile unit

Thanks. They quoted me £320 a tyre fitted. Bit more research then I'm going to decide who to go with.

Just got the tyres from Camskill for £272.20 a tyre...£20 less than they were quoting at the weekend. Bonus. Local tyre shop will fit them for £20 each, incl valves and balancing. He reassures me that 295 tyres on my nice rims wheel not be an issue for fitting.

We shall see...
