Hmmmmm.........I often wonder how many 'original' Cups have ended up this way over the years......[8|]

Tart wagen
Colin's no7 Columbo car
My French Cup
Damen's Italian Cup
Ian's Cup
Another was written off on M3 and rebuild as it sold for £12K on ebay some time back.

Was thinking of buying one for sheer pleasure. On 18 inches around Spa they are so lively and chuckable...

Getting a Cup back to standard/original spec can be done but it is expensive (nearly all the parts are still available from Porsche).

My car ran in the German Carrera Cup in 1991 and was owned by the Walcher family (the then owners of Porsche Italia).

Paul Clare's - his VIN is about 3 away from mine.
There was another yellow cup that I looked at a couple of years ago, used for racing and somewhat modified.

Excellent video.

Ian, I was never certain that the yellow car which you refer to was originally a Cup. It certainly had a lot of none Cup parts, including a 993 engine. I saw it run in the AMOC's Intermarque for a couple of years but I was less interested in Cups then than I am now so didn't pay it too much attention.

I think you're right; as far as I remember it was this one, which has just come up for sale again - http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1669283.htm

April 2000 Issue 73 of 911 and Porsche World has a Cup for sale by Nick Faure. Maritime car imported from Italy.

Page 105. It looks like Ian's car?

13K km and 32.5K if only....................

Could be - my car was imported in about 1999-2000 from Germany by Phil Hindley, but originally went to Italy. Is there a reg. no. in the ad, I know the Italian, German and initial UK regs of my car?

I have a copy of the article --- it looks like ?KO 04113.

The first of this cars two owners took it to Italy, where Faure located it.

Verdict "Sell your kids into slavery and enrol in a suitable sprint or hillclimb series. This is a car that can stir the soul" [:)]

Yes, KO-04113 was my cars German reg - I've got some of the German reg docs. I've just ordered that back-issue of 911+PW!
