talk about spur of the moment purchase...

went into Land Rover to have a look at a new Rangie...no thanks..
so called into OPC Silverstone as we were driving past.

couple of hours later had bought a Hybrid !

6 months old, very high spec

Traded in the gen 1 turbo

really liking it so far

Any other Hybrid owners on here ?

David

I'm sure there's a couple hybrid owners out there, maybe they are a bit shy in coming fwd [;)]

I did get a demo of the hybrid, not looking to buy one but just to make sure the Cayenne fitted in the garage and the diesel was unavailable. Was suprised how it could pick up speed when overtaking stuff. Did find I was getting distracted with all the power flow displays and looked at them more than the road, which was a concern.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy my oil burner.

Mike.

I just couldn't get over the nervous feeling waiting at a roundabout to pull out "sharply" with ZERO revs!

Yes, there was that, but unfortunately my diesel can do the same, if I forget to press the auto stop/start button. I'm going to see if the garage can set that to default to being off. If I wanted to cuddle trees I wouldn't have bought the Cayenne in the 1st place.

the hybrid is probably the quickest off the mark tbh
electric motors produce their most torque at 0 rpm !
the turbo was more sluggish from a standstill

can't argue with the lower fuel consumption tho !
