Another odd one!

What is going on with the clock?

Also the bad fitting s2/turbo front end?

Is it just me that loves the lux front as much as the s2/turbo, as it seems more and more lux's are coming out of the woodwork with the later front end nailed to them!

Bizarre, and from a trader. Get a flippin' spell-check, and use some punctuation, if you want to charge double the value of a car! [:'(]

I can't see why anyone would stand back from that later front and say "Mmmm, I like that gap. Job's a good'un". That said, if it ticks all the "good 944" boxes then you could easily change it back. Unfortunately you have absolutely no idea from the ad.

I'd always be wary of a later frontend - obvious reason would be to "repair" damage.

Possibly, I'd think it's just as likely someone thought it was a straight swap, then was too embarassed to change it back.

Still not necessarily a positive thing as I prefer the front of a Lux anyway, who'd want to change it when the money could be spent on waxoyl, for instance? That's more the way I look at 944 sellers, where did they choose to spend the money and how do they describe the car.

Doesn't exactly inspire confidence all round does it ? Lux's do seem to be increasingly at risk of unfortunate "improvements". Judging by the other cars for sale by the same trader, the 944 is something rather outside his normal stock. Hope for his sake he didn't take it as a PX at something like the value he is now asking for it. [8|]

Wow ! If I could get that price my 'S' (which is much better than that standard Lux) I would sell up and buy a Turbo ! [:D]

The clock looks like the car is a time machine - possibly from "Back to the future".

Actually that part is from the GM parts bin and came in the 97 MY Astra range - i know as i had one.

Front would only be replaced due to accident damage IMHO as wings need to be changed/altered. No one would spend money on changing this purely for aesthetics. ride height looks positively industrial too.

You all have missed the true selling point, its the door mirrors

I think not!!

Yeh, are they off a mini? Just close enough to a teardrop mirror to look wrong.

Even worse, what's going on with the slotted "toast-rack" rear valance? If it's not slotted then surely it's an air-brake? []

It is a straight swap: look at the leading edge of the wings. Its a GRP panel designed to fit onto existing wings and badge panel. Theyre usually less than impressive, although theyre alright for competition cars. Kev Eacock fixes his on with plastic bolts, but in most applications (in my experience) theyre not fitted anything like as well.

I wouldnt entertain one on a road car and you lose your ability to be towed too, unless you fit a separate towing eye, because the original threaded bumper mount is covered and you dont use a 951 bumper, which has the fixing in the centre...

It's actually DESIGNED to fit the BP that badly?? []

Must get my dogs jobs as designers.....they couldn't do a worse job [:D]
