Another piece of useless info!

Having popped into Unit 11 early this morning to get my car's suspension raised fractionally (6mm in the end) as at the RS ride height, I just felt it was proving too low for bumpy B roads and had also been advised that the dampers needed slightly higher ride heights to work effectively, I have learnt something new once more!

For all of you KW v3 converts, it turns out that the pitch of the threads on the damper bodies (that the spring platforms sit on) is 2mm, so for each 360 turn of the lower spring platform, you are raising (or lowering) the car by 2mm - makes it relatively easy to calculate how low or high you are going, should you be adjusting them!

So what you really mean....is that it's very straight forward to do it yourself! [;)]

BTW how does it drive now? I think I need to go up a few mm myself because I'm fed up of crawling over speed humps [8|]

Yes, should be a doddle to do it yourself in future, especially as the collars are plastic and the damper body stainless steel, hence no danger of anything corroding together and siezing up!

The only thing to be conscious of is the effect on the geometry, depending on how much lower or higher you go - Danny had to reset the front toe slightly, even with just that 6mm change.

It feels like it flows and tracks better over bumpy roads, whilst still having a super sharp response to the helm. Less chance of grounding on speedbumps now, as you say!

Btw that green RSR replica is virtually finished now and looking and sounding superb![8D]
