Another PSE up on eBay

Once again for those that are after a PSE I've spotted another set on eBay.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190440485121

Although the listing title doesn't say it's the switchable version you can see the extra pipe work and the part numbers are correct for the PSE. These are supposedly unused ones from 2002, the list price for the latest version the .04 is £1560 EACH!!

I've no affiliation with the seller so caveat emptor.

Yes - they are the later 3.6 type, suitable for both 3.4 and 3.6.

If you wanted switching, it looks like you would have to buy that part of the kit separately. Roughly £200 inc VAT.

Would they be the valves or the physical connection to the dash?

I am looking at this thinking I could get my OPC to fit or preferably signoff on it fitted externally so I am not in breach of my warranty.

Basically the kit includes a solenoid valve in the engine compartment connected to the inlet manifold to provide vacuum, and to the bypass valves which are opened and closed by vacuum. There is a relay which has to be added to the relay panel, and a switch on the dash to control it. The relay is then wired to the solenoid valve, which is the time consuming part of the installation. The book time for fitting the whole thing is 7.5 hours, so it isn't cheap.

The default position for the valves is open (loud) so if you don't mind it loud all the time, then all you have to do is fit the silencers. Probably not an option if you do track days, as it will fail most track's noise tests. In normal use though, below 3000rpm, it isn't a great deal louder than standard.

Thanks for such a detailed reply Richard. I will keep an eye on the ebay sale.

I am more than happy with the exhaust stuck on loud, as I am not intending to track the car. My main thought is if OPC will sign it off as not to invalidate my warranty.

I gather that this may not be easy since I am not buying a setup from them..
