Another ropey ebay turbo project

I hope somebody saves that. It will probably make just under 5k I would expect. Not too different a proposition to the Zermatt silver car offered in the for sale section of this forum, same work involved, very different price..

certainly looks worth saving, always a plus if it runs on a turn of the key....lots of work though and lots of money to make good too..
I hope it goes to a worthy home/owner who knows what they are getting themselves into rather than some petrol head looking for a cheap turbo'd Porsche who then discovers that they have bitten off more than they can chew.
Let's hope that the car gets the care that it rightly deserves...

Your offer was declined Mark, be professional and leave it at that please ! There is no need to bring my car/advert into this conversation - the two cars are quite different I can assure you.

Mike

Roll it in glitter, stick up 50 flattering pictures, double the price... bish bosh. [;)]

I disagree they are different. Both '88 cars, his is a better colour yours has a better cabin so not dissimilar there, his has a little more miles, both need paint job and bodywork, both need mot. When they are done, you got the same thing.. a high owners car with miles in nice condition with an mot and fresh belts.. where is the big difference I am missing? To a prospective buyer they are the same - a lot of work and a decent car at the end worth the same.

I thought my offer of 5k was very reasonable and more than any other dealer will offer you- I challenge you to find a dealer than will offer more.. away call 911virgin or malton.. see what they offer you.. £3k I bet If you can get a trade offer better than my £5k I will give you £100, paypal gift.

Can you please stop hassling Mike. He has turned you down so leave it alone before your reputation suffers or we have to start moderating you.

Was only trying to help the guy out with his sale. He comes on here saying I wonder why its not selling, I just letting him know why it wasn't selling. The fact he takes offence at the truth is not my fault.
Sorry Mike, public apology.

Good spot! From the photos it looks like they are doing the sills and that it's been prepped for a full respray. I wonder if that will be the extent of the restoration or if it will have a proper going over.

£4.5k is strong money for something that might well have been a scrapper 10 years ago. Suggests there is confidence that these cars are worth saving now.

Good sign. Even if there brought to make a profit. Can't see how red is a better colour then sliver

Not sure I would spend £10K on a CatD 944 regardless of minor damage. Thoughts?

A Turbo written off for minor damage to the rear bumper and spoiler ? Sounds like someone wanted a payout.

It would surprise you just how easily they would be written off by an insurance company. A new rear glass hatch from Porsche alone would be enough to deem the car an 'uneconomical repair' and would immediately write it off. I think if a repair is any more than a third of a car's value, it will be written off and taken on by a salvage company.

It wouldn't surprise me.
