Another shot immobiliser

Long story short, ive done my time of research. Is the immobiliser unit under the passanger seat sealed? Id like to see the contacts inside for signs of corrosion.

Im abroad, the car is at my ole mans and he says its so corroded it appears so, it was working intermittently when was last over there in may and id really like it to work when i get back on friday.
Im guessing its failed due to damp getting in over winter.
Ive read a bunch of the articles from the last yr recommending ripping it out etc etc. Prefer not too.
Any help would be much appreciated!!

As said, 'tis not worth trying to fix one of those immobilisers. Particularly if it has become damp (corroded? Never heard of that before!)

Take it out and put a more modern unit in. If you already have a modern (Thatcham) alarm then you may find that the requirements of your insurance company are met anyway, and you can simply bypass (and bin) the old under-the-seat job.
