Early start tomorrow to pick up a very clean and tidy 220 turbo it does not require much to make it minty mint, comes with a set of Cup 1 reps and the original turbo deep dish teledials.
I intend to have the car as a boggo standard minty 220 turbo, i can concentrate on making the Turbo S faster i have a nice shiny Tial wastegate to fit when time allows.
The sills are solid as are the bottoms of the front wings but the car really needs the front PU painted, the next few weeks will see a dramatic change when i get it home, the car is finished in Maraschino ? Gold.
I think i have got a bargain it has just had a big service belts included along with new brakes.
Anyone going to Raby Castle on Sunday ?
Jim.

Congratulations, that sounds like a great car to have as a spare!

Thats 3 944s getting picked up tomorrow that I'm aware of.

Good luck to all

Mike

Could maybe do that Paul, what is it about ? anyone have any idea what colour it is then ? it is a light silvery gold if that makes any sense ?
A friend previously owned the car for 15 years with main dealer no expense spared servicing, if you stood on the bills collectively you could touch the ceiling [:D]
It will make a very nice standard 220 model turbo, i will be refitting the original teledials as i quite like them.
When the Alpina is sold cash flow will be healthy to get the car bang on.[;)]

Nice one Frenchy , sounds like a good car..[:)][:)]
3 944's being picked up this Saturday???.. wow they must be popular.. sounds like a sellers market... perhaps i should sell mine????

Only kidding.....[8D][8D]

Kalahari gold perhaps or that funny Zermatt silver that isn't.
Maraschino is burgundy/wine colour isn't it?

Kalahari Gold, just spotted the actual car posted in the colours section by Dico (Paul Dixon) the seller, off to bed shortly early start.

Not another one - just as I've sold mine and picked up the S Max everyone seems to be buying 944's!! Oh well, I knew it would be difficult. Having said that there is a guy at work who had one of the last S2's sold where Porsche UK threw the options list at them - A/C, M030, leather etc. He sold it to a neighbour, who apparently never drives (he's got an RS4 and his wife has an RS3) it and it spends most of its time in their garage - i've already told him to keep tabs on it [;)]

Anyway, good luck with it Jim. I have a soft spot for the 220's.

Cheers All,
Tony the car used to belong to Al Rostron you may remember it when we all got very pissed in Als gazebo the night before at the PCGB do at the castle Nr Blackburn.
I fell through Als gazebo side very very pissed, rum if i remember correctly, we were supposed to be marshalling, but i was still very ill in my sleeping bag at 10 am and Tony was a funny looking green colour who could not hold a cup of tea down.
How long ago was that Tony ?
Al switched the pumps back on on the Warsteiner bar after afternoon closing but we got rumbled...........Rascals[:D]

Yes excellent if slightly messy evening and Yudra's introduction to a porsche club event - strangely she came with me to some more after that :) Freezing cold showers as well. I have some photos somewhere. 1998?

Don't really remember the car but give my regards to AL !

Tony

Was that you driving out of Morrisons in Wukinton in the Gold one today? If it was I was filling up with petrol as you were pulling out.

Yes Kalahari, it has grown on me not yellowy gold more of a silvery gold, The Fiend, aye that was me, where are you based ? another 944 owner in WC, What colour is yours as i keep seeing a black one knocking about ?
My good mate has another turbo reg 330 GUN in white have you seen it ?
You are welcome to call round and drink tea and talk about 944's you could have had a run to Raby Castle with us today if you are that way inclined, as an aside peeps had a guy wanting to do a deal with a very nice restored 930 Turbo today he is after a 944 turbo, i took him out in mine (the turbo s) and let him have a drive as he had never driven one.....................................He now definately wants one !
The 220 drives really well i suspect it is tweaked slighlty it came with 2 box files full of bills and receipts, some brake judder to resolve, wheel repaint and a general tidy up will see it right,do i keep cup 1's on it or redo the turbo teledials?
Selling the cup replicas will pay for the teledial refurb and a couple of new tyres.
The sills got a good splattering of cavity wax this evening.....the project begins [:D]

Wukinton born and bred marra..[:)]

You'll have probably seen me running about in mine, as it's my daily driver. It's Maraschino Red on Irish plates.
