Anti roll bar drop links

Can anyone help....just disconnected the lower bolts on the front anti roll bar drop links. Nuts came off easy....However, whilst the nuts came off the upper link, i cannot get the bolts to release....even after giving them a good thrashing....am i missing something. Can't use car until i have renewed them. Urgent!!!!!
 
I can't recall doing anything other than undoing the nuts when I did mine. Strangely, I can't find anything in the manual that shows anything useful. I expect they have rusted into the bracket at the top. Maybe try some penetrating fluid? Or a bigger hammer? Sorry I can't be more help.
 
Richard....have used a 4lb hammer and penetrating fluid. Broken a 17mm spanner, cut three knuckles and taken most of the day. Rang GT1 who also said bolts should just come out....hit it harder. Apparently its a 16 minute job!!!!!! Wish i never started now. Will have to try again tomorrow. If anyone has a plan of attack please let me know.

Tried heat.[&:]....also had to cut through bolt with a hacksaw so as i could get a ring spanner over the full bolt[:mad:]....anyway, after one and a half days JOB DONE.[:)]
Trust me.....if anyone else wants to attempt this SIMPLE job prepare for a nightmare if the fittings are as seized as mine were. Anyway smiles all round[:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)]
 
Sorry to bump this matey, but, mine are the same, and I'd rather not chop the drop links off as they appear good.

Should the links just hit out of the pinch joint on the front strut? Mine have taken a hammering with an old nut on so that the thread doesn't compress but it just isn't budging, I can't really apply any more force to the nut on the rear as it will round it off.

On the Carrera, the upper bolt inserts into the hub carrier which doubles as a clamp on the strut body. Put a jack underneath the brake disc and take up a little slack i.e jack it up by about half an inch then as Richard says, use a bigger hammer. If you don't take the weight of the brake disc, as you hammer away at the bolt, the hub carier starts to slowly move its way down the strut.
 
No worries, sorted, decided to just cut them off and have just picked up two shiney new ones to go with the rest of the components, decided best to renew whilst I am doing everything else :)
