Anti-Roll Bar Mounts

I have purchased some turbo M030 ARB's to go on my 1984 lux and I was having a look underneath at all the bushes etc too see what I would need to fit them. I was looking at the bracket that the front ARB inner mounts attatch too and they flex quite a bit when you apply force to the ARB in the right direction. I couldnt decide if they were likely to be subject to any forces that would make them flex when the car is driving and was wondering if it is worth stiffening them before I put the larger ARB's on. On my car they are simple an L shaped metal bar with an indentation which I presume is to make them a little stiffer, not that it seems to work that well, I though welding a triangular bit of metal onto the L would do the trick.

Is it worth fitting poly bushes rather than OEM ones?

Thanks for the link...Might just about be lazy enough to buy a pair of those. Althought if I can work out what they are doing might make some myself. Would be nice not to have to remove the bracket and take it to a welder.

Anyone got any experience of how much of a difference it makes to stiffen the links?

The KLA kit that Johns linked to is available from this fella: http://www.essentialstyling.com/

They certainly were and that is where mine came from IIRC. I was going to link to Simons site but it seems to need a lot of work and wouldn't have been a good reference.

I have several KLA bits on Beaky and, for the money, they have been extremely good.

Thanks for the info, I emailed them and they are getting a new batch in next week. What other kit of theirs have you had John? I'm tempted by their rear drop links and strut brace..

Top mounts. Simon was punting them on eBay for a shade over £100 before Sterling collapsed: rrp is about $220.
