I'm not sure the standard 968 front ARB is the hollow one, I know the 968 m030 is hollow and works well with upgraded springs n shocks. U might find going so stiff without changing the shocks or springs could lead to strange handling. It might be worth an upgrade just to the standard turbo arbs as a starting point ? Chris
 
The only hollow ones are the 30mm Mo30 968 ones , all the others are solid. I think the heavier ARBs are only much use with 16" wheels or larger a sI have found the taller side walls of the 15"s tend to "squirm".
 
I was considering using standard 968 springs and as well. I believe the Lux is a fair bit lighter so these should stiffen it up nicely for not a lot of outlay. Not sure what they would do to the ride height though. I have 17 inch staggered rims with 255/40 and 225/45 tyres. Cunning plan or recipe for disaster?
 
Does anyone know if the 968 26.8mm hollow anti roll bar would be a worthwhile upgrade on my '86 Lux, which I believe has a solid 20mm bar? Not sure how to compare solid to hollow. Rear is straightforward 14mm against 12mm solid.
 
I believe that it was only the older 968 M030 front ARB that was hollow. It went NLA a couple of years back and when it reappeared I have heard the new one is/was heavier and solid. Must be paired with a correspondingly stiffer rear ARB.
 
If you had the complete assembly including the top mount then maybe but its likely to give the incorrect ride height on an early car. Personally I wouldn't bother as you could fit pretty much any aftermarket springs, spec your own from Falkener etc. for much less money than conical late car springs.
 
Fair do's. Want to keep the ride height fairly standard, she sits nicely on the staggered Cups with the standard suspension.
 
I have a STD set of 968 roll bars off a Sport, and the front one is not very heavy i would assume its hollow??
