(any 911 really) Back seats pictures

I've seen many photos of the rear seats of a 911, the way they are mere padding + leather that doesn't need a mechanism to fold.

One sits on the carpet (with 2 leather pillows) - the problem is, 'one' does not sit on those seats.

Never before have I seen an actual human being sitting in there. In any medium. The internet, magazines, videos, road tests, pictures... only thing I could find was some Frenchman demonstrating how to incompetently fit a child seat in.

Does anyone in the Porsche Club, or indeed anywhere in the world, have pictures of a person sitting in the back of a 911?

I imagine trying to fit 4 people in a 911 wouldn't exactly be Panamera-like... But it would lead to so many funny situations with friends or children.

One day at Oulton Park I seen a Carrera 4 with a family of 4 people tumbling out of it. Children in proper child boosters. But once I looked inside, the spaces looked like reserved for amputees.

Is it possible for an adult to drive back there for 30 minutes, with the front seats pushed as far front as possible (and maybe the rear window taken out; this issue seems limitless in a Cabriolet)?

Anyone ever tried it?

When my kids were younger (up to about 12) they came with us to events sitting in the back. I do have some video of us driving at a DDK run back in '95 I'll look for it. Nowadays (5' 9" and 6' 3") 1/2hr max with one sat in the front.

I was asked this question only this week.
The fact that we were three blokes up for a 20minute drive to Arnage corner at Lemans answered that question.

For a short means of transport then Yes it can be done for a grown man, however its not the best of places to be...
I have my nephews in the back quite often because thats what uncles do..
Sadly no photos though...[:(]

Sorry no pics but

- got the whole family (and kit) in a 944 Turbo for a long weekend when the kids were about 5 and 3 (inc booster seats)

- my (now) 16 year old can get in the back of my 997 for, as others say, 30 minutes or so (and he is nearly 190cm); he even went around the skid pan at Silverstone in the back!

- and the younger children (10 and 12) can certainly ride quite comfortably but as yet not tested on a long journey. I reckon the challenge is not so much squeezing in or getting out but the kit that goes with them!

I regularly use my 997 C4S as transport for myself, my wife and my two young children (girls, 8 & 6). It is fine. The lack of luggage space (a particular problem on the 4) is more of an issue than the room in the back for kids of this age. However, for adults, forget it. A short ride maybe but only if they are short and slim, the latter being particularly important. Anyone over about 75kgs for more than 15 mins would verge on cruel and unusual punishment in my view.

all as above! Kids are 5 and 4 and sit in their respective kids' seats in the rear, no probs. They regularly travel 450+ miles in there and would much prefer to go in the 997 than any of our other cars.

Some helpful points for us are: Car is a C2S so there's a little more luggage space than a in 4; it's a Cab' so getting them comfortable and strapping them in is a little easier with the roof retracted [;)]

Also as above: only ever had 1 adult at a time in the rear, and that's only for short journeys.

This subject reminds me of one of the replies I give whenever someone asks "why a 911?". I just ask them to tell me a genuine competitor (any other car from any other manufacturer) than offers our family of 4 a comparable experience/configuration. So far, nobody can think of one!

My Mother -in-law used to occupy the seat behind the passenger (with that seat set well forward) and was "quite compfy, thank you, my dear".
WOULD YOU BELIEVE THAT. In an SC Sport Targa!

We used to go all over the place !

She must have been desperate to get shot of her daughter.

Maserati Gransport!!

It's not a Cab' and the engine's in the wrong place![;)] The GranCabrio is indeed a Cab' but the engine's still in the wrong place [;)] Anyway, I think the Mas' Cab' looks like a slipper! [:D] .... and it's too expensive, and the fuel consumption is terrible, and the wheels are all wrong (fronts tyres to narrow and don't fill the arches), and ..... oh, I just don't like it. Not a proper contender methinks.
