Any 944 with a bit of patience are going to Ace's Cafe meeting on Monday ?

I'll explain : Not being english ( but portuguese ), although I have no problem with the english language ( worked in several countries, went to university in Switzerland, bla bla ) but I do have a bit when it comes to motoring.

Im hoping to buy a 944 ( S2 or Turbo ) in the next follwing weeks and I almost know what to look on a car, ie the proper checks ( sills, timming belts, chain, etc ) since I-ve trying to do my homework and bought a couple of books ; Problem is, sometimes I dont have a clue were the item is inside the boot, since they are terms I know little about.

So I would like to ask if any 944 users ( specially someone with a bit of patience ) are to show up inthe meeting and open the boot of their car and show me exactly were is the water pump, were to look for the coolant hoses and so forth. I would be gratefull , on which gratitude is pretty but I would insist over a pint ( Im paying :) )

Hope there isnt a problem of trying to show up in a Porsche meeting with a taxi :)

Cheers,

Goncalo

ps > i-ve posted here and on R20 forum as well
ps2 > were can I find more info about hte meeting ? Ie, can we take someone else ( unfortunatly my other half is not very keen on motoring so I guess I'll be alone but still... ) ? what time ? were is ace's ?

I'm sure there will be some 944s - hopefully John will make it and Rick as well. Paul Mc told me last week he'd be there also.

Someone might be able to tell you the postcode, but the Ace is on the North Circular, just past the Hangar Lane Gyratory (going clockwise; just before it otherwise...)

The web site is a bit eclectic but I did eventually find:-

Please be aware that while 944 owners are kind and considerate types they can get a bit carried away when in groups of more than one and will often resort to leg pulling at very little provocation. The best way to reduce this tendency is to offer to buy a round. [;)]

That's why the leg-pulling never ends when John's around...[;)]

See the R20 Forum postings. If you are absolutely 100%, no doubt at all, certain, that you will be there Kish maybe able to hold a space for you.
