Any Boxster owners going to the Britcar 24?

I am there. Or was there. And will be there again - tomorrow! Working on today's photos now. Have managed to get some up of a lovely 1971 911 - but nothing to do with the racing!

We went on Saturday and Sunday. The racing on Saturday was excellent and we had fun doing two laps of the Grand Prix circuit in the Parade in brilliant sunshine. I think that 7 PCGB members went on the track in the end. We were flying the flag for the register being the only Boxster on the track. Where was everyone else?

The start of the main event, the Britcar 24 Hour, was particularly eventful with a serious smash involving No 7 TVR Sagiris and No 27 Ginetta G50. Both cars were written off in the Pit Straight, within yards of the start.

What struck me most was how few spectators there were over the whole weekend - and with good weather too. I doubt if there were more than 2000 people there at the peak and the circuit was almost deserted during the hours of darkness. I counted just 10 people in the Woodcote stand at 5:30 on Sunday morning. Quite a contrast with the Le Mans 24 Hours.

Pleasingly, I managed to take loads of snaps - an early morning pic of the winning GT3 is below. With so few spectators it was easy to get into some decent positions without the need for a media pass. This was probably one of the best events this year. Thanks to the club for organising tickets and all the PCGB members we met there. We'll definitely be going next year.

Many thanks for posting the pix. The race, once it was underway, was well worth watching. We finally went off to get some sleep about 22:00 and got back to the circuit around 04:30. We saw a couple of spins down near Club during the morning but nothing particularly eventful. Sadly, due to other committments we had to leave mid-afternoon so didn't actually see the finish.

We heard that the driver was medi-vaced to Northampton Hospital but, thank goodness, was not seriously injured.
