Any mobile specialists in MK?

Hi All,

Hope you have had a great Christmas

The battery of my 2001 Boxster is completely dead and the method of opening the bonnet using the red lug is not working on my car either - I've tried over the last couple of days but it wont work. I get a clicking sound from the fusebox when I move the black jump lead around, but the bonnet just wont open.

I read some posts about accessing the cable via the wheelarch and despite seeing the pics on another forum I've not been able to find the cable. I've not been able to remove the wheel as the locking wheel nut is in the boot!

Its clearly beyond my skillset so I think I need to use the skills of a specialist to get the bonnet open. Does anyone know of any mobile specialists that cover Milton Keynes? I called the AA and enquired about upgrading my membership (which will cost £75), but there is no guarantee that the patrolman will know how to access the cable either.

My only other option is get the car towed to a garage where it can be put up on a ramp to give us an easier view but I was hoping to avoid the costs of using a tow truck etc.

Thanks

It might be worth giving Nick Curson from Auto 2000 (Porsche Specalists) in Bedford a ring on
01234 210012 or 07968 562395.

Hi John,

I emailed Nick but didn't get a reply.

However, I thought I'd give the red lug another try today with another set of jump leads and managed to get it open first time!

Got the started pretty quickly and took it for a drive. Seems to be starting ok now. Will check fluid levels tomorrow and may put it on charge if it has difficulty turning over.

Thanks again

If you leave the car for any length of time it may be worth releasing the bonnet first until you know for certain the problem is fixed. If you do, leave a reminder in the car so you don't drive off with it partially released.
