Maybe I have missed a thread or something, but I cannot seem to find a great deal about the 'new' Boxster or the Coupe that are supposed to be coming out later this year /early next year.
I've seen the odd pictures from Autosport etc - but can anyone else shed any more light on either of the new models or point me in the right direction??
Do you think that we can we expect a showing at a motorshow somewhere soon?
Cheers,

Basically there's no news which is at all reliable - merely speculation. Porsche have said nothing and won't even confirm that there will be a coupe.

Best guess is a summer 2005 launch for the new shape boxster - going to be a further "evolution" of the current model. Standard Boxster will have cayenne style interior and about 10-15bhp more. Boxster S will have about 15-20bhp more than current. Some external tweaks but not too many. Unlikely to look too much like the 997 as this would prove unpopular with 997 buyers.

Coupe rumored to be a late 2005 / early 2006 debut, with waiting lists already extensive, will have current 2.7 engine @ 228bhp. There won't be an 'S' coupe as this would be too close to 911 performance with better handling.

If you look on the "other" boxster forums there are some extensive discussions as well as the usual photoshopped magazine pics - http://forum.boxa.net http://www.ppbb.com

Found a couple of pics on www.theautobahn.com looks pretty good if the real car is similar. Just hoping it is priced ok.

The one flaw with those pictures is the lack of engine. If you look at your current boxster the engine compartment comes nearly to the top of the seat backs...in these photos it seems to just be a large boot?
