Hi Guys,

I know some of you have been regulars at this event in the past:

Cosford Breakfast Club

I quite fancied a trip over there for this Sundays meet up.

Is any one else interested in joing me for an early jaunt over to RAF Cosford at all?

Thanks in advance.

Nige.

Hi Nige, we were only discussing this at the Lincs meeting on sunday. I'll see if I can rustle up some interest and get back to you. Another outing for the targa cam no doubt.

Paul

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the response, I look forwards to seeing if some of you and the other guys can make it too.

But no sorry it wont be an outing for the Targa Cam, one of my friends has it on loan this week for a Skiing trip to Canada, I hope he gets some fun shots!!!.

And at the very least I hope he gets some footage of him crashing on his snowboard and breaking some bones!!

Hope we can get some attendees for the meet on Sunday!!

Cheers,

Nige.

Hi Nige,
Didn't get around to asking many people but I intend to head over Sunday leaving about 6.00 will travel to Kegworth from Sleaford, then M42 etc. I'll use this run as a recce to do a route for a R4 run in a couple of months time as the Cosford RAF Museum is well worth a visit. So expect to see you there about 08.30 ish Nige

Cheers

Paul

Paul,

Thanks for the update.

So what time do you plan on getting to Cosford for then?

Do you want to meet up on the M42 somewhere first and head to Cosford together?

Let me know,

Nige.

Sorry I missed this, knackered from my week of physical activities! [;)]
Looked like a reasonable turnout of Porsche metal..

We're looking at going later in the year followed by a drive into Wales and the EVO triangle etc...
Yet to be finalised..

Gary,

Thanks for the response and sorry you could not make it this time, but I am glad you did not break anything on your skiing trip!!

When Paul and I first arrived we thought that we were the only ones who were going to show, as there was just us and 1 Audi Quattro when we first arrived.

However later on many more people turned up despite the Ice and Snow and it turned out to be a good event.

There was a good turn out of the Porsche marque of modern and all other previous incarnations too.

We had a drive back cross country across the Wrekin, which was covered in Snow and back through the lanes towards Ironbridge, which were great roads but too wet after all the rain for any real enjoyment.

I would be up for another trip followed by a trip into wales especially for a cruise around the Evo triangle too.

Keep me informed as to when it might be.

I am sure you noticed the pictures of my car and Pauls on the pictures of the day on the breakfast club website too!!

Hi Gary,
I mentioned to Nige I was half expecting you to turn up on spec Sunday but sounds like old mans back kept you away... kidding.
Helen and Larry Goff also have some phots from sunday on their picture gallery (search Cosford 18 Jan 2009 to get to link) plus some good historic 356 photos.
I was suprised by the turn out of all cars and it was good to see many early Porsches (DDK Club I think) and a handful of most other Porsche models represented.
Being ex RAF but never having visited the Cosford museum I really enjoyed the exhibits more than justifying the six oclock start from Lincs (also worth the early start to have empty roads to play with).
Will keep an eye out for the run you mentioned and would also be good to come mob handed with some of the Lincs and Humberside crew.
Having visited the Autosport show saturday was it a painful experience Gary when you collected your turbo, there just seemed to be so many people carrying the freebie bags around the display porsches and thats not to mention the scantily clad young ladies posing for phots by some of the exhibits. Very good display and a great crowd puller I'm sure Rob and yourself have been thanked but PCGB display, the team serving coffees and pressing the flesh so to speak really did the club proud.

Cheers

Paul

:ROFLMAO: Sunday was painful - mainly because my wife had to collect my car for me [], I trust her really [:D]
I had a look around on the Thursday which was a lot quieter than the weekend but it wasn't really my sort of show (nor the wifes for that matter)

The club did put a really good display on, one we should all be proud of, however I'm sure there will be someone who will have a complaint about it [&:]
heck , even I have my own grumbles on it [;)]

Well done to Rob for organising the 997 contingent of cars and all the other 911 RS's who sorted though their midst of members to get the display cars for the show.

Breakfast club meet..[&:]
I was more than a little disappointed to read the following remark from the event organiser "I'm not a fan of the plethora of modern cars but having a variety of everything there makes it far more interesting than a normal car meet." shame really [:(]
I'm really hoping that I've read it out of context, I know Coxy has posted on here, in which case I'm happy to listen to his comments.

Gary,

Interesting comment that you refer to from the organiser about modern cars.

It struck me that over 50% of the cars that were there on Sunday were so called modern cars, I am sure that the new mini (BMW) owners who turned up on Sunday had the highest number of new type cars!!

It would be nice to see a big turn out of lots of our new 997's next time!!

Nige.
