in process of buying c4,its had oil service at christmas, and was told it may be due for big service, could you tell me what it entails and cost cheers.forgott to mention its done 4k since service,

Dependent upon how long is a piece of string and...
  1. Mileage
  2. What work is required
  3. Where you go for the service
  4. Previous history
A big service - 48K miles - with a lot of stuff needing fixing could be £1000/£1500 easily but could be in the £600/£700 range just as easily, OPC will cost more than an indie obviously. Where are you planning to take the car?

OK, just read your earlier post and see the car has 75K miles so the above holds true IMO. What does the service history show? What was done before the work at Christmas and when? Look at the old invoices to check. You might find that disks and pads were done, which would be good but possibly expensive if not. Its also a good time for dampers to leak a bit as well as bushes to wear out so the potential for a huge bill is there. I would say get a PPI done now and get the full sp before you commit to a price.

nine maester is where it was last serviced, just oil change coils and header bottle i think due to split,discs/pads all look pretty fresh, contacted them and i was told nothing else was needed at last service all was ok

It shouldn't need anything then until next Christmas unless you do 20K miles in the meantime but you need to be aware that these cars can cost a lot to run initially, if you are the sort of person who likes to sort everything out. If there are no issues, I would stick by my £600/£700 estimate.
