Any opinions on Swiftcover insurance

Its that time of year again. All the compare sites are bringing up Swiftcover as the cheapest. Part of AXA I believe. Anyone got any experience of these guys?

Current best quote on Cayenne S is £560 protected, full NCB, middle aged bloke, no points etc.

Any other recommendations? Currently with Tesco. I find the Porsche specialists are not so good for the Cayenne as they are the 911.

Regards
Neil

[:)] As a family we have two policies with Swift, both very cheap, but have never had to claim and that's where the proof is. Not heard any bad reports.
Elephant came out cheapest for my Cayenne though.

Your price looks good.

Currently I am paying £836 for our Cayenne S and £603 for my daughter's Cayenne, We are insured with Royal & Sun Alliance.

Try direct line insuranceI pay £386 FC protected for my V6 KN, we do have other cars insured with them though.[;)]

Just to edit this...... I've just put my info into directline... and for the V6 KN £291 - KNS £361 - Turbo £361 all full comp. Seems a bargin to me [:)]

In the light of below thats with a tracker fitted

Tesco and Direct Line were the cheapest for me but they wanted a Tracker - KNS

I went with Sainsburys £590 - Me 33 wife 29 55 plate

I have swiftcover for two 911 turbo's. Not had to claim yet!
Someone recently dinged my BMW which is insured through Norwich Union. Within 3 hrs they had a brand new Mercedes coutesy car with me and BMW were phoning me wanting to pick the car up. Witnin 4 days I had the car fully repaired and back with me! Now thats impressive!

Whoever you insure with make sure for your own sake that they do cover factory fitted extras as per the original sale invoice - some insurers only cover the basic car without extras, so your payout in the event of a serious incident could be a lot less than you think. Some insurers count even factory extras as modifications.

Always ask - not so easy with internet quotations !

I agree.

I obtained a quote from www.confused.com with Elephant.co.uk. They were the cheapest insurer so they rang me to get my business. After they had taken into account the cars 20" alloys and air suspension the premium had increased by nearly £200. I asked them why and they said because this car would be more expensive to replace than the standard spc car (which is what they rate on).

The problem is that most people dont think of these things as modifications - just extra spec. When I get asked about modifications I always think of the Max Power boy racer with his bodykitted Corsa.

Thanks all. Decided against Swiftcover in the end as they are just uncontactable by telephone and I wanted the peace of mind. I've had a close call with Elephant before when I tried to clarify the cover on factory fitted extras. Combined with the indian call center it just became too hard and I cancelled.

Eventually done a renewal deal with Tesco as their web site quoted me £50 cheaper than their renewal notice so they matched the price. Couldnt convince them to send me the £50 shopping voucher advertised on the web site tho - "brand new customers only"! I kid you not ....

Since starting the thread, the 996 renewal notice has come through! Jeez what next....
