Any recommendations for smart repairs man in our area?

Just had ChipsAway man come and go in a matter of minutes as he couldnt do the 'smart-repairs' despite saying he could on the phone. Ive been looking for 'dentmaster' or similar in S-Derby area (A50 j5). Ive couple of couple of parking dings in a Golf door and a nasty stone gouge in the Cayenne wing. Both look like they can be sorted by the dent wizards that the trade use but I cant find any round here.

A friend of mine has used a place similar to Dent Wizard on Ascot Drive in Derby. Not sure if he's mobile though as he took his car into him. He seemed to be happy with the work he did, though he sold the car shortly afterwads so i've no idea if it lasted. Do Chipsaway do dents now?

I used Auto Body tec at Sandiacre. They have a guy that works for them on contract. He comes to your house, removes the dent. He charged me £40 for removing a dent on my car about 12 months ago. Can't tell it was ever there. Dents is all this guy does. Give auto body tec a call and they will give you his number

Thanks for the replies. ChipsAway say they do it but then turn up to "give you an estimate as we dont do it ourselves". To be honest, Ive always found them good in the past but I was well miffed he wasted my time (when I was at home on holiday) and potentially prevented me from getting the job done elsewhere.

All's well that ends well. In desperation I dropped into Chartwell bodyshop (do all the premium brands incl Ferrari, Maserati, Aston etc) and they recommended an ex-employee who came out that eve and was excellent. Real nice guy, very concientious. Did a great job but (he was) unhappy with the result of one of the dings so didnt charge us for it. His pricing is simply £45 per panel - no fix no fee. I even let him loose on a deep stone gouge on the Cayennes wing and he made it dissappear in minutes.

Thoroughly recommend him. Been in the trade for years working on premium brands even through his apprenticeship. Says he will cover Notts/Derbys/Leics. Call Dan at Car Medics on 07904 058567.

The problem with Chips away is that it is a franchise.People who have previous experience of spraying are good but those who have come from other areas of the motor trade are reticent to touch a premium marque.It should be noted that Chartwell are Official Porsche approved repairers which means a life time guarantee and I have arranged a visit to their premises on the 14th of March next year. All members will receive an invite. They also do a complete accident management programme which cost's nothing to join and so far about 25 members have joined. Had similar treatment myself - kept me waiting in all day, then turns up only to say he wouldn't do the work - not even part of it.

I agree. In fact this lad told me CarMedic is no better and whilst they wouldnt let him loose on a car until he had completed the training, he did find complete novices on the training course.

Didnt know Chartwells were now Porsche approved. Saves my long treck to Cannock in the future!

Had to call Dan the Dent Man out again tonite as a kamakaze pheasant made a huge mess of the bonnet on the 911. I was in tears on Sunday

Really didnt expect him to fix it as the dent had formed over the shape of the strengthening structure that is glued on the inside of the bonnet panel. Not only has he made it totally dissapear but he also tidied up a couple of other bonnet dings for the princely sum of £45.

This boy is good! Im seriously impressed this time.
