Anybody at Brands with RSR mufflers?

Hi Guys -

We are considering putting RSR mufflers on Blue (not a very original name but it seems to have stuck and all our cars have names) but before getting too involved we want to hear what they sound like. Is anyone going to be in the register parking who has them fitted so we can have a listen?

I had a set fitted on my 993 for a while. They sounded good but would never pass a trackday noise test, at 4500rpm they gave a reading of 110db....No improvement in power, just a pleasant noise.

Thanks clubsport - that might be a problem as we may want to do the odd hillclimb or sprint uin the future. Any one else got any comments?

I actually found the number on the DVLA website when I bought the car in March ...... standard DVLA costs....... what do think it could be worth now ?

Not at Brands, but have got RSR's on mine, and they sound fantastic. Had no trouble with the sound man at Donington, and they're very hot on noise there.

At brands track day, on the Friday if that helps, you can hear the RSR's in anger (midnight blue - 11 JMS reg number - not from DVLA website, but DVLA auction, don't ask cost!)

I have registered 100db - 107db at Combe (depending on the outside temperature) and 105db at Bedford, can't remember reading at Goodwood but was OK there. I have a seperate set of aux can's which I can bolt on in place of the tips (5min job in the paddock) drops the noise down to ~90db for any failures (only had to use them at Combe) been OK at Donnington, Brands, Bedford, Goodwood, Pembrey.

Sound is fantastic, wouldn't go back. Many come up to me at Track days and ask what I have fitted!

What a loverley welcome back from holiday - loadsa messages on my thread. Thanks everyone! Blue's reg is B6 LJW - probably necessary as it sounds like there is going to be more than one Midnight Blue there! We are really lookin forward to seeing everyone and listening to the lovely noises.
