I'll be travelling up from North Yorkshire.

Its my first time there so I'll be taking tuition ...

Anybody else interested in this voyage of discovery ??

I believe it is now fully booked or so I have been told .Going along but just to spectate .

It is a well organised event and well marshalled so even a novice will enjoy.

I have a booking for Knockhill but my CR is currently under offer so I'll not be driving it on Saturday. I'll be speaking to Steve Kevlin this week about switching my booking to another track day event later in the year. I'll be at the circuit on the day as a interested spectator.

I have extensive experience of Knockhill circuit, in both directions configuration. It is one of the few circuits to have an FIA licence for events both clockwise and anti-clockwise.

I am willing to sit in with anyone with tips on the lines, braking points, and turn-ins if anyone is interested.

What a brilliant day.

Many many thanks to Brian Innes. I took him up on his offer of tuition.

I was passenger in his Cayman R as he talked me round the circuit. The CR is an amazing car, the level of grip is astonishing. We then went out in my Cayman, again he pointed out the correct braking points, gear and turn in. When I went out alone I was without doubt driving smoother and faster.

The Cayman really is great fun on the track.

Also..... there were 8 or 9 GT4's there... so much for being rare!!

Archie.

Thank you for your kind words Archie. The CR is indeed well suited to track day events. The extra grip provided by the Michelin Cup 2 tyres was mighty impressive. I'll also be using them for Anglesey later this month. Going by my Knockhill experience, I can definitely recommend them for the CR.

I also had a brilliant day and it was great to see such a good turnout. My thanks to Matt Collins for giving me a whirl round in the GT4. Noticeably more grunt than the CR and a much more track focused chassis. It's a car I could use absolutely fine and is the natural step up from the CR. Shame about the price premiums though, especially when there are so many of them apparently!

My CR is still for sale. See Aberdeen OPC. Keeping the spare set of 19" Spyder alloys and Cup 2's though.

Time to move on.

See you at Anglesey Brian. [:)]
