i'm flying down on sat to look at an 99T plate boxster and looking for some expert advice, the car is 10 miles from stanstead, petrol money and a bar lunch on me,from a scotsman!

Hi Gary,

Martyn did indeed mention your request on Tuesday. Unfortunately, we were not over run with Boxster owners, or they were in short supply on Tuesday.

In sort, I'm afraid there were no takers on your kind offer of a pub lunch.

If I might be so bold, it may be worth you contacting Autostrassa (their details are in Porsche Post). They work on Saturday mornings and, perhaps by prior arrangement, if you took the car to their premises they would look over the vehicle on their ramps and give you a professional opinion. Their comments may cost you a bit more than a pub lunch, but would perhaps also be worth a lot more. Getting to see the underside of a prospective purchase must be worth a few quid alone.

Having wasted money on an AA survey previously myself I am now a great beliver in getting a specialist to look at a specialist car.

Gary, I was hoping to be that way myself on Saturday but alas not.

I also missed the last Essex meeting as I was on hols.

I wish you luck with the car. John's idea is excellent - Autostrasse are well worth a call for peace of mind.

Let us know how you get on.

Hiya Gary,

i'm no expert,as only had my Boxster S now for 4 weeks so when it comes to the technical/body side of a car i'm no expert but if you would like a second set of eyes to have a look with you i'd be more than welcome.

i live 10mins drive from Stansted Airport so let me know if i can help.

Alex
