This might seem a silly question, but does anybody transport their dog - in particular of labrador sort of size, in their 996? If so how? I'm sure ours would travel on the passenger seat - but that's not very safe and my wife wouldn't like having to travel in the back!
Answer will have significant influence on the next car purchased!
thanks

My lab is 34 kgs goes in my 993 with no issues at all, we put a big doggie pillow in the rear and dog is fitted with a full restraint harness which is attatched to rear seat belt ,he can move around in a limited fashion and cant come forward when braking Like this http://www.yourdogsneeds.co.uk/clix-car-safe-harness-large-p-156.html

You might strap down some webbing or something similar to give the dog's paws some purchase or they can slide around a bit in the back of a 996.
I'm afraid I don't. You could drop an email to him - his forum name on here is "Watty".

Amusing-at Woodvale Rally this last weekend, there were no end of all sizes of dogs riding with their owners ,all looking very "superior".1 guy had a very low 3 wheeler open Morgan look-alike & it cruised past with his dog ,wearing goggles perched in the drivers seat, front paws on the wheel, looking extremely competent & smug.No doubt some member of R18 might have a jpeg of it-I didn't have my camera. PS We have 1 cat & 5 tortoises but they don't generally travel at speed with us in the Porsches!

Get a 944 as a second car. They fit in fine......
Get a bit of a headache when you shut the tailgate though... []

Ive removed the rear seats for the Dog. Remove the small torx screw in the centre and they just come out. Other parts are secured with Velcro It also gives a LOT more space for luggage if you go on Holiday!!
