anybody with a project 944?

Elliot

New member
for my sins I have started a project which I don't know will get finished but here goes

I have purchased a VW beetle 1303S and separated the body and floorpan.

I now need a 1985.5 Porsche 944 so I can cut the body off and shape the floorpan to the shape of the beetle shell.

I have always loved the beetle shape but hated the engine /ride so thought I would get the best of both worlds by stitching the two together

so if anyone has a Porsche 944 in any condition with known good engine / gearbox please let me know

cheers Elliot

will start a thread with build when I have the 944 cheers

Where about are you? I have a 88 turbo that needs a new passenger sill, intermediate and a bit of the floor replaced, ideal as all parts are there and working. Engine has mayo in filler neck, could need attention as engine does leak oil from seals, other than that it's fairly solid

I know but I don't care - when I turn up in a 1303 shell with a Porsche rubber band and running gear they will change their minds

interesting bit will be refabricating floorpan and shell to accommodate engine in the front.

Elliot go onto You tube and type in Bugster. You will find German built 1303 with a boxster under the body. The conversion works really well.

yes saw this on the bay - really looking for 86 and want one with all wiring / ecus in place so I can prove engine first.

let me know what your best price is and might be interested but would rather have alloy rear arms and wishbone set up.
