Anyone added performance mods to a 3.2?

As above!
I just wondered has anyone tweaked a 3.2 Boxster??, exhaust, map etc?? and if so what kind of gains they experienced or indeed did it cause problems?

Put a induction kit on it. Not sure about gains but it sounds even better which
I did not know was possible.

Going for the exhaust and cats of next and then going to go for a custom remap at Wests, should be looking at getting around 295bhp (fingers crossed). I have the 986 of course.

Not going to bother getting the headers done though because I have been told that you only gain about 2bhp. so not worth it.

Thanks for that!
I'm looking for a 3.2s now, after the GF picked up her 2.7!, its nice but I feel a bit under powered![;)]
Although I'm spoilt by the torque on the diesel Seat Leon project I've tuned![]

There was a thread a while ago about an article on a Janspeed exhaust for the 986, which they were claiming delivered +20bhp for the 2.7 version. Might be worth having a search for if you are in the market for a bit more power.

You can get the 200 cell cat replacements for £500, which would mean just over £1,000 and then allow around £200 pound for fitting. I would not bother with the manifolds as I doubt you will get that much extra bhp from them and it will prob save you around £800. Bit optimistic getting 27bhp just from exhaust though.

I am actually going to go for the janspeed backbox though as I used to have one on one of my first cars and it sounded great.

If you find anything else out let me know though as I really want 300bhp which would give me the edge over the 987 as well as being a bit lighter.

Yeah the 300bhp is the magic figure!! [;)]

Other than going to exteremes, e.g.supercharger fitted, you could start running it on the 102 RON BP fuel. This should be good for an extra 5% power or so, downsides are it's only available in a few garages and costs a bloody fortune.
