Hi looking for worthwhile mods to do to my car, you know the subtle ones either performane or just to personalise.

I would be interested to know what you have done just to add that finishing touch.

I replaced my gear knob with a 996 type from Carnewal. Looks a 100% improvement over the original worn knob that was on the car when I purchased it.

from the VFM category..

looks....

aluminum (not the other type) door sills.... very classy although a pain getting off the old tape ! and only about £75-100

performance....

short-shifter.... even though it is a not so short shifter ! but still a great assistance to the feel of the car !

although as you have a turbo..... BIGGER turbo charger [&:]

Bob,

Best mod £ for £ is the Bilstein HD's and H&R springs. If your car is still on original dampers and springs this will transform the car.

Other things that I have done:

Porsche Aerokit front and rear
Turbo S air scoops
Targa cup wheels
Strut brace
Litronic headlights
Aluminum bezel rings (dull finish)
Sat nav - so I don't get lost[:D]

This shows a few of the mods

Agree re the Bilsteins and H&Rs. Total transformation (although I am comparing new with 6 -year old dampers.) Mine is a Roock kit supplied and fitted by JZ Machtech.

The RSR mufflers are good mod - nice classic aircooled sound from the earlier days - lots of burble and raspy....

I would go for the suspension above too.

Forgot the Fabspeed Maxflo's, glorious sound and much better than the RSR's that I had on my last 993!

Things i have done to the car so far:-

Wheels re-done in a chrome effect
New gear knob and handbrake
New road Angel
Fabspeed Maxflow exhaust and De-cat pipes
Xenon headlights
Motorsound airbox
Calipers re-finished

The best mod so far being the Xenon headlights, what a difference they make to the road ahead a night.

Looking to know what your best worthwhile mod you have done that you recommend, that i have not already got.

Theres a couple of things I've seen on a C4S that I quite fancy for my C2. Not sure if they are genuine items or non gen options.
Firstly, a quite big metallic/chrome strip under the front bumper. Its about the size of the number plate, and is for protecting the under-spoiler from scrapes.
Also, and I think this is probably standard on the S models, the small curved metal strip on the body of the car around the opening for the tailpipes, and are they stick-on?
Any ideas where I can get these bits?

Hi mikejb993,

It sounds like you are describing something I saw on www.carnewal.com. Go to 'skip intro', 'exterior', scroll down to P93 and click on 'Front Protection Bar'.

It does appear similar, but the one I saw was a flush fitting plate for the underneath bit of the spoiler, about 12" x 3" instead of being just a thin bar, but thanks for suggestion. It may have come from Holland or Belgium ???
