Anyone dyed their leather seats?

I've just bought some leather sports seats, they came with a light grey panneling and I want to dye them black to match the rest of the seat. Can anyone recommend a product or company they've used?

Thanks in advance.

Nigel

Hi Nigel,

Got a Pal in the Milton keynes area who is a coach trimmer. I'll give him a bell for you. Mind, I can hear him now going on about leather.. I'll get back to you

Nigel,

Well from the horse's mouth, so to speak. In a word, NO, not with any degree of success. The process is called reconnolising and evening with the correct colour leather IT DOES NOT LAST... You will be disappointed my buddy says.

Sorry

I couldn't agree more ! They make great products, and I do like the new leather smell afterwards.

Another recommendation for Gliptone.

Did my seats 4 years ago. It was a bit of a chore matching the colour/shine, but when done the results were excellent and have stood the test of time and 50,000 miles very well!

I was going to try Gliptone, but for one reason or another I went for Swissol Leather healer colour corrector.
It was ordered once I provided my leather colour. The result is fantastic, rejuvinating the seats - taking out all scuffs and scratches.

I would not recommend trying to change the colour of the leather. I think this would be very difficult to get an even coat and you would never be happy with the end result.

I used Gliptone Scuffmaster to re dye my black leather, and they still look brand new after a year of use, all so used Glip tone conditioner then liquid leather to feed the leather, the results are truely amazing. Leather looks and feels just like new, compareing it with my bro's boxster.

THANKS ONE AND ALL - GLIPTONE IT IS THEN.

I have to say what a huge difference the sports seats have made, so much grip on the bends compared to the old seats. Going to get a loom made up for the power and then my head won't keep hitting the roof when I get out.

One note, getting into the rear is much more difficult now for the kids as the side bolsters hit the seat base. So bewqare if changing and you carry either large passengers or as I do the golf clubs!!

I'll let you know how I get on when the parcel arrives.

Thanks once again.
