Anyone fancy driving the Evo Triangle this Sunday?

I am thinking about taking a bit of a road trip this Sunday to get some proper use out of my S2 before the crappy weather sets in and it gets put away for the winter. The evo Triangle is something I've read about numerous times and I really fancy giving it ago. The weather forecast is perfect for Sunday. Anyone else up for a last minute road trip?

It's a very good route, and well worth the drive. And this time of year is a good one to choose; holiday traffic should be minimal and the local Plod (notoriously unpleasant people, courtesy of Mr R Brunstrom) will therefore not be too active (they like to target holidaymakers, and tend to be less active outside holiday season.)

Take great care if it is wet tho'. More than you usually would; while the road surface is excellent, things like diesel spills and mud on the road tend to hang around for quite a while, and a bit of water brings them all back to life so to speak.

I'd love to come. Sadly it is quite a jaunt from home and I have too many other things to do ... although I have to say I am sorely tempted.

Oli.

Very tempting but a bit of a stretch from Sheffield. Looks like fun though! I hope the weather is good for you.

I'm thereabouts on Saturday.
Lots of good roads in North Wales, but it's best away from the green A roads. If you're still looking for drivers, you might find some at the Ponderosa Cafe on Horseshoe Pass.

Enjoy.

It's a 4 hr drive for me (Hants) so I'm aiming to leave early! Happy to meet up with anyone who's up for it.

I finally got my car back yesterday and she is sat in a carpeted, warm garage waiting for me now till Christmas.

Its sad that I'm considering it, technically plausible.. nay impossible but absolutely ridiculous for me to consider catching a train home to Northampton today, picking up WUF and joining you in Wales tomorrow before driving back here to Plymouth in the evening.. Honestly I think if it wasn't for the lack of anywhere to park it here I'd probably be at the train station right now.

Regrettably my planned Evo Triangle trip never happed today, family commitments meant it was hard to justify the time.

I really do fancy giving this road trip ago but would love some of you guys to join me. I'm thinking it might work out better to arrive on a Saturday night, stay in a B&B and enjoy a decent meal with a few beers. Up early on the Sunday to drive the `Triangle' and some of the other mouth watering roads in the area before setting off back home to catch my Sunday roast.

Who's up for it and when's the best time to arrange it?

Well we keep talking about another "informal" gathering at some point ! Great video though of course I would never condone such outrageous driving [;)]

My favourite welsh driving roads don't even seem to show up on that map except the last section, the B4518 from Staylittle to Llanidloes. Worth noting on a map even just for the scenery if your ever out that way but I could show you some amazing roads near there where you can see miles of barely one car wide but perfectly surfaced road snaking ahead of you with cambers, crests, drops and S's.. beautiful. Even at legal speeds.

Edited to add: Un-bloody-believable! The google street view van has actually been down the road!! Any one picture is as good as another I suppose and its hard to understand it without seeing it as a whole but...

P.S. amazing clip with the R8, nicely driven too. Cant say the same for the Evo I'm afraid.
