I will be fitting some new rear struts, hopefully next week, and was wondering if anyone could run through the process for me? I'm wondering about compressing the springs, (after removing them from the car?) and also what needs to be removed to get at the top mounting plates etc. Thanks in anticipation of any replies.

Yeah, did mine last year, pretty straightforward really. If I remember right there are three bolts through the upper turret, which are in the engine bay and one bolt on the lower suspension arm.The shocks came out easily enough the only problem being the lower arm bolt which took some serious torque to loosen it,I'd try and just crack that loose before I went any further.Once they're off you'll need a set of spring compressors and, again if I remember right,it's just one nut on the damper rod.Dead easy really,it's just that lower bolt.Steel bolt, alloy casting,no copaslip, you know it's gonna be trouble.
Thanks for this info, I thought it was fairly straight forward, except that I could only catch a glimpse of one of the upper mounts, deep into the engine bay! I wondered what exactly needed to come out of there to get at them properly?
