Anyone for a Garmin?

I've never taken much notice of aftermarket sat nav. until now, but a friend has a portable Garmin unit in his Ferrari and following a trip out last weekend, I was surprised how handy the gadget is.
It lets you know whenever you're approaching a static speed camera site or a zone where mobile cameras are used and also confirms the speed limit for that location.
This seems a tad more useful than the info. I can get from my in-car equipment and at £150 or so looks to be good value in order to safeguard your licence.
Just wondered what others think. [8|]

I have the RoadAngel Navigator 7000. It acts as a useful camera/van/blackspot/average speed detector and also provides sat nav when used in another car. The main benefit is knowing the real speed the car is doing as the speedo reads over by about 3 mph and it keeps me alert on roads I don't know. The model I have is waterproof as well so it gives me a detector and sat nav in my Caterham. I also have the older Navigator 6000 in another car.

I like the detectors for extra peace of mind, being warned about locations of mobile vans etc it pretty good and I reckon it has saved me the odd 3 points.

I have a Garmin device as well for my BMW and think that it's fantastic - far better than PCM nav however the only prob is the fact you got to stick it to the window, plug it in and have aeriel wires everywhere for traffic alerts. All in all, PCM much more convenient - after market portable devices superier tech/software + easier and cheaper to keep up to date.
